Manfred Finkelstein was born on October 14, 1927 in Frankfurt/Main and he stayed together with his mother Perla in the Home 'Isenburg' from October 14, 1927 until an unknown date.
He is a son of Perla Finkelstein and a brother of Arthur Finkelstein, who are also listed in this memorial book.
Perla presumably gave her first son up for adoption in Oslo on or after April 16, 1928. The registration records list her departure address as “to Sprendlingen/Oslo.” After that, she likely returned with Manfred to her parents’ home in Sprendlingen. Manfred Finkelstein is listed in the book *Juden in Sprendlingen* at his grandparents’ address.
In 1933, Manfred fled to Poland with his mother, Perla. Both survived under circumstances that remain unclear.
In 1947, Manfred emigrated to Palestine, where he went by the name Moshe Avni. He became the father of two daughters.
